Month in Review

By December 31, 2012January 9th, 2013No Comments

This month we covered the following topics:

  • Piping – By using pipes, you can cut down on modeling time for extrusions and add additional dynamic detail to your model such as tubular details, seams etc.
  • Rhino 5 Overview – We explored the new version of  Rhinoceros 3D (Version 5). We talked about some interface changes, display modes and got our feet wet with a few of the new tools and features.
  • U,V,W – I introduced the concept of surface coordinates or “U,V,W” and how they will relate to your surface or model and briefly explored U, V mapping.
  • 3D Sketchbook – I showed some concepts that are part of one of my 3D sketchbooks. I showed the value in this idea by showing how multiple rapidly executed ideas can come together to create a large collection of models in a very short amount of time.

Have a great, fun and happy new year! See you next week.
